Verify your organisation
For NGOs, public bodies, and community groups already doing reforestation work
The verified organisation badge confirms that the account is operated by the organisation it claims to represent, that it legally exists in its jurisdiction, and that its activity is reforestation, ecological restoration, conservation, or closely related work. Eligible applicants include registered NGOs and non-profits, public bodies, academic and research institutions, and community groups whose documented activity includes reforestation or restoration. The process: fill in the form with your organisation's details, confirm your institutional email, and the Reforesta team verifies legal existence and activity scope using public registers — we do not audit projects or methodology. The badge does not imply endorsement of your methods, certification of your data, or any commercial relationship with Reforesta.
Apply for verification →Who can apply
There are four eligible categories. First, registered NGOs, associations, foundations and non-profit entities whose stated purpose includes environmental restoration, conservation, forestry or rewilding. Second, public bodies and government agencies with a mandate covering forestry, environment or land management (including cabildos, autonomous community departments, local councils, and equivalents in Ireland and the UK). Third, academic and research institutions: universities, research centres, botanical gardens, herbaria. Fourth, community groups with a registered legal form whose documented activity includes reforestation or restoration.
Not eligible are for-profit companies whose core business is not restoration, individuals regardless of expertise, and carbon credit brokers or offset marketplaces unless they are also a registered restoration organisation.
How the process works
- Fill in the form with your organisation's official name, legal form, registration number, website, and contact person details (with an email address at your organisation's own domain).
- You will receive a confirmation email at that address. The link in the email must be opened from the Reforesta session of the account being verified.
- The Reforesta team checks legal existence, domain match and activity scope using public registers. We do not audit projects or methodology.
- You will receive a response with the decision and, if rejected, the reason in writing. You may reapply once the reason has been addressed.
The badge does not imply endorsement of the organisation's methods, certification of its data, third-party environmental clearance, or any commercial relationship with Reforesta.
